What an exciting year it has been for Qube Radio Online,
an online radio platform which begun on the internet in 2016, has raised the
bar to be reckoned. In the year 2017 the focus has been on building the brand
and getting recognition. That has been the case thus far. Implemented this year
was the Quzic show which has gained massive audience from the international
market. Just a few weeks ago the platform clocked over 220 listeners in Brazil
on Sound Cloud. One might argue and say the number is minor but it doesn’t just
end there. Other countries which the show is in the pipeline to conquer is
France, Spain and Germany as the listeners have tuned in supporting the deejay
representing their country on show. Just a few weeks back from the Journalism
Department (first year student), Itumeleng Modiba aka Deep Motion received warm
and thoughtful positive comments from a fan in France who loved the style of
play on show.
The focus would now be on building a solid market in
Brazil and ensuring that the listeners from abroad remain loyal to the show.
Although critics were raised that the show quality is too high therefore
consuming a lot of data, it’s of advantage that the show is international as in
other countries data is not expensive. The two duo’s who present the show, Dj
Promino and Eazy M have stuck out hard work and passion for the show. The newly
appointed CEO was happy and embraced that more could be done, “The duo have been
working hard to make sure that the show succeeds, 215 listeners in Brazil is a
sign of growth. So from here on we double and take it to 530”, said Qube CEO
Sandile Ngubane.
Other students around campus who also listened to the
show also added insight on how they thought the programme was great and had the
potential to be big. From the U.K this week they’ll be having Andy Compton
who’s been in the game for a very long time and has worked with well-known
artists like Vinny Da Vinci, Ralf Gum and Black Coffee. The pressure mounts up
to the Qube team as a whole and only time can rate the consistency in a couple
of years to come.
